Is RockMeadow Senior Camp right for my kid?

Campers must be 10 years old (as of January 1, 2026) through 17 years old. Please note that if your child is not within this age range, we will contact you to process a refund minus a $75 cancellation fee.

This camp is a more concentrated and condensed version or out Intro 101/102 classes. It will be specifically geared towards older kids who are hoping to learn more about horses and riding.

How much does it cost?

Each weekly session is $750. Campers will receive a t-shirt and individually packaged snacks for the week. A $475 deposit is due at registration with the balance to be paid on or before May 15th, 2026. If the balance has not been paid your card will automatically be processed On May 15, 2026 for the balance due. Reminder emails will be sent to you via invoice sent from RockMeadow Equestrian Center.

What are your cancellation policies?

You can receive a refund up until May 15, less a $75 cancellation fee. User can cancel after May 15, and receive 50% refund if we can fill their spot with someone off of our waitlist. User will not receive a refund if their spot cannot be filled. No exceptions.

What does a camp day look like?

Monday-Friday, camp begins at 9am and ends at 12pm. Campers will spend a very focused morning learning the skills of our Intro 101 and 102 class which includes horse safety, handling, grooming, tacking up, and of course beginner riding.

How does senior camp differ from junior camp?

Senior camp is for older kids and will have a more condensed day with more concentrated time with the horses working on the beginner skills necessary to really start riding lessons in our program. This camp will focus on the horse learning without the additional time for games and crafts in a camp day.

What kind of clothing and equipment is required?

Every camper must wear a helmet when around the horses. We require ASTM/SEI approved helmets and recommend that your camper has his/her own. We will have some available to borrow if needed. Campers should wear jeans or other long active wear pants for riding as well as a smooth soled riding boot, hiking or rain boot with a heel.

What else should my camper bring?

We recommend that campers bring a change of clothes for when they get hot or dirty after riding — shorts or long pants are fine. We also ask that campers bring their own water bottles and sunscreen.

If a camper needs any medication (eg inhalers for asthma, epi pens, etc), please indicate this when you register and bring the medication clearly marked with your camper’s name. Please note that one of our new American Camping Associates standards requires any medications brought to the camp to be in a bottle with doctor's orders written on the bottle. All medications must be given to the staff for safety and administered only by staff.
